Ice Storm and Gas Station....

The title sums it up! What a "storm" it was. I could not believe the effect it left on NWA. Thousands of people are still out of electricity and it may be another WEEK before some regain electricity. Can you imagine? Thankfully, all of the ice has melted and it actually got up in the lower 60's today...Arkansas weather! Even though it was a terrible storm, the ice and snow made everything look so pretty! Here are a few pictures I took of my back yard, golf course and some trees around town.

look how thick the ice is!

these trees were so pretty

this was the prettiest tree, I pass it everyday on my way to work. Add Image the Hero's of the week!

No, this gas station was not hit by a tornado. However, the roof did collapse due to the weight on it from all the ice. One man was pumping gas when it collapsed, but thankfully he survived with minor injuries. I just happened to be pulling up to the traffic light that is adjacent to the gas station as the firetrucks and paramedics were pulling up, so I saw them pull the man out of the rubble. It was kind of scary to witness that!

I wanted to leave on a brighter note! Look at that sweet face!

I hope everyone had a great week! Please continue to keep the families with out electricity in your thoughts and prayers, as well as the men working diligently to restore power to them. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

It's sad how awful all the trees look now around here! I can't believe you were by the gas station when that happened. I'm just glad you weren't at the gas station.

The last picture is sooo sweet! No, I'm not partial!

That gas station was crazy!! I meant to stop over and check your blog out the other day but got distracted and forgot. I am glad to hear you are doing well. I will let Debbie (from FBC in Benton) know you have a blog because I know she will want to see how you are doing!! I love the blogging thing because I get to see how everyone is doing.

That gas station thing is crazy! I was freaking out for a second because at first it looked just like one we got gas at on Wednesday and that could've been us! Ahh!
